Employment
Services (VTEC)
Positioning itself as a
leading employment source in Vista, the newly developed
Vista Townsite Employment Center (VTEC), a program
of the Vista Townsite Community Partnership, is now
helping companies fill open positions with the right
candidates. Because of the community involvement of
the VTCP and its resident services, we have access
to a ready pool of candidates for you to choose from.
VTEC goes the extra length to help clients realize
their full potential in just a short amount of time
by assisting each one to define work goals and develop
a plan to achieve them. We help clients to focus on
their strengths while we streamline support services
such as English classes, mock interviews, business
attire assessment, resume writing and communication
skills. Please contact Peg
for more information.

ESL Classes
English as
Second Language
Classes are held at the Townsite
Park, and have been in progress for over 5 months.
Over 90 residents have signed up and on average 20 students
attend on a daily basis. Classroom topics include
employment, education, shopping, safety, environment,
small business development and cooking. Delicious
recipes are exchanged and often "sampled"
in class. Parents that do not have childcare are
allowed to bring their children as long as they get
involved in the learning process. Contact Ana. |

ACTIVE PARENTS
Did You Know That... Elementary
schools in Vista use a three track, year round schedule;
therefore, elementary aged children attend 17 less days
of classes per year than do students in neighboring
districts? Or that Vista Unified's high schools
house twice as many students as they were designed to
educate? Or that the State School Building Program
requires that districts provide matching funds to obtain
State monies?
Would You Like To Know
About... How to be
active in your children's education, or how to continue
your education? Or about City government and local
organizations? What about Community Support
Services, and addiction, violence and mental health
programs?
